Mitchell Ross Associates Architects was selected by the Albany International Airport to design a new Air Rescue & Firefighting Facility (ARFF) at the airport in Colonie, NY.

Under the supervision of Robert Mitchell, AIA, the firm designed the facility which includes:

  • Administrative offices;
  • Firematic, crash, & support facilities;
  • Specialized training facilities;
  • Bunk quarters;
  • Living areas;
  • Physical fitness room;
  • An inter-agency emergency response center

Mitchell Ross Associates provided total project management for this project as well as cost estimating, scheduling, site planning, design development, bid support services, and construction administration.

This project required approvals by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The design ensured compliance with FAA, ADA, OSHA, and NFPA guidelines.
